No more of this...
or this...
or this...
Look it, even my son has tried to make a point.
And it came to pass...
YEAH, Baby!
$110 hair cut. Worth it? I think so. I may need to get a part time job to keep it up, however!
Yep. It had to be done. But I couldn't stop there, you know. Nails and a night out with good friends were in order.
Here is my girl, Amie. One of the good friends I was telling you about.

Toby Keith's Bar and Grill at the Hard Rock Casino. Now, THAT was a well deserved evening of fun.
Our friend, Angela Wade's wedding. Our first real night out without our kiddo...
...
don't ask.
You know... at this moment, I realize that new pictures need to be taken of my hubby. However, in effort to actually finish this blog... I move on.
Just look at him now!
Cropped family pic from Christmas. With our adorable nephew (and Collin's best friend), Nathan.
Here is a couple of months ago at... get this... GEORGE STRAIT!!! Oh my gah, I thought I was gonna die. Best. Concert. Ever.
Back from his first business trip in Mexico...
HUBBA HUBBA!
Keep bringing me home pretty jewelry like this, Hunny, and I might let you go on another business trip.
I might.
Let's talk about friends, Man.
Who knew we would be such close friends? I'd been a 'Mayfield' for years before I found out how fabulous she is! Like I said... sometimes you need to open your eyes.
And her hubby, James...
Otherwise, known as Kermit de Frog.
Amie has been friends of the Mayfield family for a lifetime. Her parents and Tommy's parents are best friends. It was only a matter of time.
Favorite Pic of all time...
Amie and James have a little girl (a love of my life) close to Collin's age.
Little Madi this Easter...
So cute, I can't stand it. For the record... I helped pick out her dress. See? I do have style.
Now, I am not the only person in this family of three that has made a change or two. Tommy, my husband (sticking his tongue out in the picture above), has made a few changes for himself. To honor his accomplishments, I would like to point them out.
Mother's Day before Collin was born...
At our Baby Shower... What man does not gain weight with their prego wives?

don't ask.

Along with this process of self-discovery, I have made it my personal resolution to be more social. This stay-at-home mommy needs some GIRL TIME!!! So... a little bit of reaching out to some old friends and a few Lia Sophia parties later...
Let me introduce you to my posse.
Jentry (A.K.A. 'Jench')
Collin is a big fan of this one. She's cute, short, animated and obnoxiously happy. He is obsessed with his Jentry. And her iphone.
Jench and I were best buds in school. Now, since we are both married and somewhat domesticated, we enjoy getting together with our husbands. This is Joshua, the hubster. My fellow Cajun (he attended L.S.U.. I lived near New Orleans).
Here's another school friend of mine. Meet Terra!
And her adorable family!
Seems like only yesterday we were copying each others homework, passing notes in class and singing "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" at the top of our lungs in the school hallways. "The world is a vampire... du-na-na-na-na-na..."
I mentioned Lia Sophia parties earlier... that's right. I said "parties". Yes, it's true. Jewelry, baby, YEAH!
Beautiful, right? I don't even want to talk about the amount of money I spent on this stuff. However, as part of my efforts to transform myself into a woman with style, I thought it important that I put on some bling more than once or twice a month.
This jewelry venture did lead me to a new friendship (as well as my own, personal Lia Sophia Consultant). My girl, Alexie. We hit it off from the start!
I know... so stinkin' pretty, right? Ridiculous.
Afton has been a permanent fixture to my posse since we were 10 years old! We've been through just about everything together. She and I reside on the same 'planet'... generally, we make no sense to onlookers when we are together (conversations and otherwise).
Once in a while, you must broaden your horizon... open your eyes... stop and smell the flowers...
Once in a while, someone special is sitting right in front of you. If given the chance, they could be one of your greatest friends.
My Amie! (Hard Rock Casino friend)
And her hubby, James...

And so... my Awakening... this process of self-discovery continues on and on. I've learned that I am patient. I have a sense of humor. I need 'girl time' on a fairly regular basis. I'm still somewhat naive, though I'm a little wiser. I'm quite lazy. I like pedicures (a little too often). I worry too much. I like to write. I've got great hair. I feel like I'm getting to know another new friend.

As in past blog posts, it is my tradition to record recent special events. To begin...
Amie's 30th Birthday Party. This was an 80's themed party... hence silly costumes.
I'm not built to wear pumps. Another thing I've learned... quite painfully!
Chatting with Angela, Amie's sister. Incredible make-up artist.
This was a great party.

Easter at the Mayfield House.
Well, friends... that's it for now. There will be more, of course. I hope you enjoy!
FIN.

Awesome post Jessi! I am so inspired by all the positive changes you have been making and I think Amie has a big part in that. So my hats off to Amie. It kinda made me wish I were a bit more involved with a social life but then again I can't change the heart of who I am....a homebody. I love lying around with my man and the frequent visits to my BF's home for some girl time. Thank goodness you have found Amie because she seems way more social "than my own meandering self". Geesh this comment is getting long. Jessi tell me to stop rambling....hmmm...that's the only problem with blogging is that you never know when to hang up the keyboard. I love you today, yesterday, and can't wait till tomorrow. Pedicure time!
